Green America's mission is to harness economic power—the strength of consumers, investors, businesses, and the marketplace—to create a socially just and environmentally sustainable society. We focus on economic strategies to solve social and environmental problems. We mobilize people in their economic roles—as consumers, investors, workers, and business leaders. We empower people to take personal and collective action. We work on issues of social justice and environmental responsibility which we consider linked in the quest for a sustainable world. The "social" and the "environmental" are what we mean when we say “green." We work to stop abusive practices and to create healthy, just and sustainable practices.

A leader in Sustainable and Responsible Investments (SRI), Calvert Investments offers investors among the widest choice of SRI strategies of any investment management company in the United States. Each SRI strategy employs one of three proprietary approaches. Calvert SignatureTM Strategies integrate two distinct research frameworks: a rigorous review of financial performance plus a thorough assessment of environmental, social, and governance performance. Only when a company meets Calvert standards for both frameworks will we consider investing. Calvert SolutionTM Strategies selectively invest in companies that produce products and services designed to solve some of today's most pressing sustainability challenges. Calvert SAGETM Strategies emphasize strategic engagement to advance environmental, social, and governance performance in companies that may not meet Calvert standards today, but have the potential to improve. More information on Calvert SRI strategies is available at www.Calvert.com/SRI.

The Center for Political Accountability (CPA) is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that was created in November 2003 to bring transparency and accountability to corporate political spending. It was formed to address the secrecy that cloaks much of the political activity engaged in by companies and the risks this poses to shareholder value. Working with more than 30 shareholder advocates, the CPA is the only group to directly engage companies to improve disclosure and oversight of their direct and indirect political spending. This includes soft money contributions and payments to trade associations and other tax exempt organizations that are used for political purposes. The Center’s aims are to encourage responsible corporate political activity, protect shareholders, and strengthen the integrity of the political process. As a result of the efforts of the CPA and its partners, more than 80 leading public companies, including more than half of the S&P 100, have adopted political disclosure and oversight.
